Blow-UP! Micro Cut
Blow-UP! Micro Cut Devoti – Large Version (2013) by MET Devoti is the interior adaptation of No. 9 Blow-Up!, an environmental installation conceived as a perpetual explosion, multiplying itself into three stone elements—white, black, and grey.
In this enlarged version, the work takes the form of three imposing monoliths carved from pure Carrara marble. Their fractured interiors reveal a fragmented face sculpted in negative, while hands appear to grasp the head in a futile attempt to contain the burst of inner force, heightening the tension of the impending explosion.
Light becomes a decisive element. Filtering through the fissures, it illuminates the sculpted surfaces from within, transforming the marble into a living, radiant skin. The interplay of shadow and brilliance accentuates the sensation of a form on the verge of rupture, suspended between implosion and expansion.
Blow-UP! Micro Cut Devoti – Large Version explores the delicate threshold between perception and reality, inviting the viewer into an eternal dialogue between fragility and power. The work appears both monumental and vulnerable—solid stone charged with invisible energy, poised at the edge of transformation.
In its dramatic contrasts and sculptural intensity, the piece stands as a profound meditation on the human condition, capturing the moment when inner tension seeks release, and reality fractures to reveal the emotional landscape beneath.
