HI-C
Hi-C (2014) by Met Devoti is a sculpture that transforms marble into a poetic device capable of merging ancient matter with contemporary technologies. Created in statuary and ordinary white marble, enriched with light and sound, the work takes the shape of a laptop: the precisely carved keyboard opens toward a screen that appears to deform like a vibrating fabric, within which a warm light pulses—an evocation of presence and interiority.
Through this contrast between the eternal solidity of stone and the ephemerality of light and sound, Hi-C explores our daily relationship with technology and the intangible dimension of digital communication. The work becomes a symbol of dialogue between memory and innovation, between corporeality and virtuality, inviting the viewer to perceive the hidden soul within the tools that mediate our experience of the world.
