Silent Presences on the Visionary Puppeteer’s Carousel

The mind takes monopoly over the image — and the cameras follow.

It projects ideas and frustrations, fears and pleasures, joy and nonsense.

If a computer — or rather a Hi-Mat — can be made of marble and still play music, then a USB stick can be monumental.

And in this world where everything has its own “neurological” substance and meaning, new visions begin to take shape.

They take shape perhaps to explode into another firework display, just like life itself.

Characters in search of an author start carving out their own space, settling into mental segments and pushing forward — sometimes as masters of the world, sometimes as artists who find their path through making, through building parallel theatres for unconnected performances that nonetheless coexist in harmony, as if their show were free of risk or sharp turns.

As if “going off the road” were simply the ultimate proof of having dared — fully, and to the end.

Only by risking, roles are assigned.

Roles so unusual they open new horizons, new stages.

Because life has no obstacles; it is free, strong, determined.

It claims its own space — and asks for more.

This entire world is the brilliant universe and global visual language of Met Devoti, who investigates reality in search of its protagonists and visions. Here emerges the army of presences that populate his thoughts, themes, and reflections.

Met Devoti becomes the narrator of a constellation of concepts that inhabit his mind.

At times, Met appears to be a sculptor rooted in tradition — beginning with marble, the signature material of Carrara. Who can reveal his secret, when he seems to keep one foot firmly in the future while remaining anchored to the techniques and discipline of yesterday?

And those presences — they are silent.

They know their strength.

And they know their purpose.

And Met?

He pulls the strings like a visionary puppeteer — fearless, unpretentious — hurling himself directly into these evaluations. If nonsense appears to be the right path to provoke a smile, the mental sound takes over and silences the protagonists of art. It is a kind of nonsense already explored by Gaetano.

A vision emerges: the magic of interpreting reality through the filters of a perception in fragile balance — a feeling we have all experienced, or wished to.

And then again, these silent presences remind us that irony and hard work are part of the craft.

All this generates a reality we do not yet know, but intuit through vision.

And although Met Devoti’s sculptures may seem diverse in theme, they ultimately converge, recounting their stories like characters in Alice in Wonderland.

Here, order becomes an idea of life — a secure future on which one can bet and win, under the guidance of a master like Met Devoti, who never confuses meaning.
